Due to the nature of our services, restrictions apply to every skip hire. Please read through the below carefully. Please note, we cannot move overloaded skips. Any waste that is above the height of the skip will be removed as this is unsafe us to transport.
An example of an overloaded skip – unsafe for transport!
We are now asking customers to be mindful of what they are putting in skips as the rules and regulations have changed at our third-party waste transfer station.
Taking Care of your waste Effectively and making sure that the waste is recycled with the highest level of care is our top priority. With doing this means we ask for you to help in the process of hiring one of our skips. “Following these steps WILL not only help” improve the recycling process but also stops as much waste as possible from going to landfill.
We ask that No Soil or Hardcore goes in mixed General waste Skips as soil is recycled to produce healthy soils for reuse.
We also ask that there are no (POPS – PESISTENT ORGANIC POLLUTANTS) in any of our General Waste Skips as this is not categorised as general waste. for Example. (Sofas, Sofa Beds, Armchairs, Kitchen & Dining Room Chairs, Stools & Foot stools, Office Chairs, Futons and Bean Bags. POPS are poisonous chemical substances that break down slowly and get into food chains as a result. The manufacture, sale and use of products containing POPS is now banned.
Why we Cannot accept (PLASTERBOARD) mixed in general waste skips …. Plasterboard falls within the hazardous waste category; it is also banned from landfills. The material has high Gypsum content, giving it a high putrefaction risk. When these sulphates get wet and mix with other general waste and rubbish, they create hydrogen sulphide (HS).
When our skip is delivered, the driver will give each customer a list of what is not accepted in our skips please take a moment to read this as it is important for your waste to be disposed of with the highest level of care.
